New beginnings & Notting Hill Carnival

OK I’ve been running about a bit over the last few weeks so haven’t updated the blog…But it should now be slowing down for the next week or so.Firstly I left CRUK just over 4 weeks ago. I made heaps & heaps of friends & had an absolute ball working there…Well I enjoyed a lot of the people there…Not too keen on working for a charity again until semiretirement. Still had a couple of great leaving drinks & a bought a new jacket with the leaving money…ow & a cigarette holder with Cancer Research UK engraved in it.
....................

The weekend I left CRUK was also Notting Hill Carnival so after regrouping, off we went on the bank holiday Monday. For those of you not in the know about Notting Hill Carnival it’s the second biggest street festival outside of Rio with over a million people going over the two days. To be honest I won’t be going next year, that many people in one place means you have to be in relatively close contact with all those people…& I’m sure I’ve mentioned my stance on that before in this blog. The other nasty point about NHC was Xavier getting man handled by the old bill for being a Good Samaritan. What I will be doing again is eating Jerk Chicken, most probably the best chicken in the world (Apart from KFC ofcause) & best eaten with rum punch drunk out of a recycled coconut shell. Then onto finding a new job…not fun at the best of times, but it’s done now & I’ve been working for Expedia Travel doing Desktop in Soho Square for over 2 weeks now. The crew seem quite cool, it’s really variable work & the lunch time walks give me whiplash so it’ll do for now.
So that’s about it…been a fairly up & down month but I’m off to Munich & Oktoberfest next week so let the fun times roll & I’ll keep you posted.

You stay classy interweb.
